Get Involved and Earn Senior Points for Prom

As prom approaches, many high school seniors are already planning their outfits, transportation, and other details for the big night. Unfortunately, those expenses do pile up, but never fear: SENIOR POINTS can help you reduce the cost of prom. For LHS students, there are many chances throughout the year to earn them. Here’s how you can accumulate points and make your prom night dreams a reality:

Volunteering at school events and committees is another great way to rack up points. Emma Twomey, Vice President of the Senior Class of 2025, notes, “Underclassmen can accumulate points by participating in bake sales organized by Student Council. It’s a cost-effective way to contribute to the fun events leading up to senior year.” By giving back to your school community, you’ll also increase your chances of accumulating enough points for prom.

Additionally, the school hosts various fundraisers throughout the year, including Senior Class clothing sales, snack sales, and an online magazine sale. Students can donate to bake sales or sell items to earn more points towards their prom bid.

The biggest fundraiser for the senior class, however, is the annual CARD PARTY. Students can donate baskets for this event, and the popularity of each basket will determine how many senior points can be earned. Senior Class President Renee Kim explains, “There are no set deadlines, but you might want to consider the time leading up to prom [the CARD PARTY] as your last chance to earn senior points. Underclassmen can also earn points by donating to bake sales, attending Student Council-led events, and participating in class council activities. While senior points can only be used for prom expenses, the package includes the photo op, ticket, transportation, and more.”

With prom just around the corner, it’s time to start planning how to earn those last few senior points. From attending school events to volunteering and staying active in clubs, there are plenty of ways to ensure you have enough points to cover some or all of your prom expenses. By remaining engaged, demonstrating school spirit, and getting involved, you’ll not only make your senior year unforgettable but also create a prom night you’ll cherish forever.
