Creepy, Cute, and Creative: Halloween Costumes That Will Turn Heads
As the spooky season approaches, LHS is getting ready to see and hear about all the Halloween costumes people are wearing this year. This year, Halloween falls on a Thursday people are planning on celebrating all weekend. Costumes this year are more vibrant and diverse than ever, and students are being very creative this year and adding their own twist.
Students are very excited for the upcoming spooky festivities, Halloweekend has everyone in LHS talking about what they are doing, what they are wearing and how they are excited to be able to enjoy with their friends. From classic spooky looks to trendy outfits inspired by movies and social media, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re gearing up for a party or just planning to hang out with friends, get ready for a Halloween filled with awesome costumes and good vibes.
Anabella Garcia 26′ shared, “I think a “Disney Villains” theme would be really cool for a group costume. Each of us could pick a different villain like Maleficent, Ursula, or the Queen of Hearts. It’d be super cool to see everyone’s visions come to life, and we could all dress up in dramatic styles.”
Senior Jaylene Hernandez suggested, “I think a classic movie character theme would be really cool especially when going to parties. There are a lot of things that groups can be but one idea is dressing up as characters from movies or shows like Scooby-Doo or Toy Story. It would be so much fun to take group photos, and everyone would recognize the costumes!”
Mia Rosario ’25 added, “Honestly I think a cute group costume idea can be doing superheroes with your friends, we could all pick our favorite superheroes and dress up. On top of that there are so many options people can choose from so it’s not that difficult of a costume to do.”
Junior Anabella Garcia added on by bringing up trends this year “This year, I think a costume from Mario would be super cute. Going as Mario, Luigi, or even Princess Peach would be such a fun costume and even being different types of animals.”
Senior Mia Rosario added, “What I realized is trending this Halloween is being different animals, one popular one this year is cheetah print. I know a lot of people this year are trying to incorporate that into their costume, even if it’s just shorts or adding ears.”
Both Annabella and Mia brought up some last minute Halloween costume ideas including a cat costume. “You just have to wear black clothing, add cat ears, and apply some makeup for whiskers. It’s also super convenient if you don’t want to do anything crazy for Halloween,” Mia continued, “ I think a last minute costume that would work is being an athlete it can work for both guys and girls and it can be quick and easy to do. You can just throw a jersey on or wear any type of sports gear you can find.”
As Halloween 2024 gets closer, it’s awesome to see how costumes this year really show off everyone’s creativity and personality. Planning costumes with friends is stressful but fun, many students plan on attending parties or just hanging out with their friends. It’s an unforgettable experience filled with creativity and fun. From the excitement of dressing up to the thrill of games, music, and dancing. Whether you’re sharing laughs with friends or enjoying the spooky decorations, every moment adds to the magic of the night. So, as Halloween approaches, everyone in LHS should get ready to embrace the festive spirit, make new memories, and celebrate the joy of being together.
