Stress Bomb: Junior Year

According to Juniors all over the school, the struggles of high school have definitely gotten worse this year. From mountains of homework to anxiety and stress, junior year for most is one of the most stressful times in a teenager’s life. Junior year is the year where students have to study and take SATs, ACTs and keep their grades up, as this is the most important year on your transcripts.

Katerina Romanides ’25 explains that Junior year is the most stressful year for most students because of how it is the year that counts the most towards colleges. When asked if there was any difference in how long it took to finish homework assignments she admits that she has been spending a lot more time on assignments this year compared to past years. SAT’s are something most students stress about during Junior year; when asked whether she is worried about the SAT she is pretty confident for the SAT as she believes that she did well on the PSAT. She believes the most important thing

Personally, I also believe that this is the most stressful year of high school and I believe many others can agree. Compared to previous years, the amount of work given in classes has increased, making homework assignments very time consuming. I’m not too worried about SATs but it is still something that is on my mind constantly. I plan on taking the SAT during the spring of this school year and I have already begun studying, so it is definitely not something to take lightly.

Something that I believe was important to me last year that is still important to me this year is to have reliable friends, not just to hang out with but ones who are helpful when it comes to school. Friends who you can rely on during days you are absent. Friends you can study with and work together with to get through this difficult year. We all face challenges, having friends and sticking together is important for making it through high school.
