How to Plan for College Admission

I’m a high school senior who has probably been through similar situations as you up and coming juniors and planning for what you want for college is straining mentally. But learning from others who’ve gone through this same experience recently I can help you guys through it with these very useful interviews from seniors, Beckett Chun, Yoobi Kim, and Joshua Yi.

The first step is figuring out what your priorities are. When I interviewed Beckett Chun, where the most important thing for him was “How good their business program was, I wanted it to be in a college town.”

Yoobi Kim focused more on “Their academic standing, along with their research resources” and went on to point out, “location matters with the close proximity to my home.” And Yoobi also mentioned the importance of affordability when deciding on where you will commit.

Involving people you trust is another massive part when deciding if you want to go to a specific college. Joshua Yi shared, “I asked my parents because they’re not dumb I thought they would give me the best answer.” Like Yoobi, Joshua also stated, “I looked at the price.”

In conclusion from these conversations, it’s clear that college planning is really up to you, but some core strategies that you can use to make sure you have your priorities in check. Get advice from people you trust and make sure you promise yourself to do proper research to keep yourself in check with cost and what feels right for you.
