Winter Fun for Everyone
As the winter season approaches, Leonia High School students begin to bring their coats, hats, gloves, and any other form of comfortable clothing to keep them warm during the winter season.
Mr. Dunn, LHS’ choir director, loves the winter weather and says, “I go outside every day. I walk several miles a day no matter what the weather is.” Winter may not be everyone’s favorite season, however, it is almost the new year and people should be gearing up and getting ready for a new tradition.
Another possible exciting activity to look forward to in the winter season is going to New York City to visit Rockefeller Center. It is one of the highlights of the winter season, especially during the holidays. Freshman Montana Mason says, “The most beautiful thing about Rockefeller [Center] is all the lights around the area and the amount of people that go to enjoy themselves.”
It’s not just the places you visit for show but the places you visit for some actual fun. There are so many fun things to do during the winter season such as going sledding, skiing, snowboarding, building a snowman, making snow angels, etc. When asking senior Isabella Gregory what she likes to do during the winter season, she says, “Ice skating, traveling to the Alps, drinking hot cocoa, sitting in front of the fireplace with friends, the holidays, and playing in the snow with friends.”
Some people find that the reason why they don’t like the winter season is because of all the horrible things about the weather and getting sick. It is not the best feeling getting sick and having to stay home from school however some find it enjoyable. But being able to capture every moment in every season is the one of the most special things about life. Seasons come and go but in every season, there is always something to look forward to and to cherish forever. We can say that the winter season is very brutal and harsh with the weather. No one likes when it is cold and no one really likes having to wear heavy clothing but it is always a time for change and new beginnings.
