A Look Back at Our Favorite Memes…

 In 2017, many things happened in the worlds of fashion, makeup, gaming, music and technology in the United States. But for now, let’s look at Memes. Memes are easy to access and they can be found on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and your run-of-the-mill Google Image search.

For those of you who don’t know what a meme is, it’s a humorous image or video spread rapidly by Internet users. The term “meme” was coined by Richard Dawkins in his book, The Selfish Gene back in 1976. His book recognized memes as something anyone can create to communicate a cultural idea. We know it as a way to communicate a funny idea through a combination of pictures and text.

Today, there are websites that dedicated to just memes.  For those of us who can’t find the words sometimes, Memes provide a way to make someone’s day by making them smile and laugh at a little joke. There are so many different types of memes to laugh and smile about like: family, friends, animals, school, romance, sarcastic, celebrities, anime and even cartoons related memes. Whichever genre that might make you crack smile, you will be able to find it. Throughout the year millions of memes are out in the internet and it continues to increase in number.
