American Horror Story Season 4 Theme Revealed
Producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck, revealed the theme for the fourth season of the FX thriller American Horror Story, which will be premiering on October 15th. On March 17th, Murphy announced that the name of the fourth season will be American Horror Story: Freak Show.
There is something thrilling about clowns, vintage carnivals, and the hidden “freaks” of nature. Murphy and Falchuck found inspiration in this twisted concept for the new season of AHS.
The carnival theme will feature the brilliant returning actress Jessica Lange, who is rumored to be playing a role which requires her to practice a German accent. Several other familiar faces will be seen this upcoming season; the returning cast includes Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, and Angela Bassett. Also returning next season is actress Emma Roberts, who recently joined the cast for Coven. According to the International Business Times “the actors who are [also] set to return in “some capacity” are Gabourey Sidibe, Denis O’Hare, and Jamie Brewer.”
Earlier this year, rumors concerned the fandom that Jessica Lange would be saying farewell to the AHS cast. Freak Show being her last season.Lange has been an enormous part of the show since seasons one; she won an Emmy in 2012 for her brilliant characterization of the twisted mother in Murder House. However, she has made some comments which concern audiences that she will not be a part of the cast for long. Lange told Entertainment Weekly that “This [filming American Horror Story] is a six-month commitment every year. That will be four years in a row. I want to have more time to myself I guess […] I think four years doing something is a sufficient amount of time.”
There are big expectations for this new season. AHS is known for outstanding first, second, and third seasons. A junior at LHS, Caitlin Thomas states, “I think that the part I am most excited about is seeing the old cast come together again and continue doing what they do best.” Not only that but Thomas is hoping that this season will bring new frights to its viewers. “ I would love to see a lot of twisted and abnormal characters, that is what AHS is all about.”
Season four will premiere on FX this fall. Fans all over the country await for what the producers of the horror show have in store.
